OVERVIEW

This hands-on course covers the process-based functionality of AccVerify and AccRepair. Students completing this 2-day course will be able to identify and remediate issues on web sites pertaining to accessibility, searchability, privacy, usability and many other areas that are fully customizable for your organization. This course is designed to train individuals to make the most effective use of these powerful tools toward achieving and maintaining accessible Web sites in compliance with:

• Section 508 and W3C WCAG Priority 1-3 accessibility guidelines

• Content Quality Guidelines

• Searchability

• Privacy / Section 208

• Metadata

• Custom Organizational Guidelines

AccRepair includes AccVerify within it and provides a complete, scalable enterprise test management system that when properly implemented within an organization, enables validation and repair of content for compliance with standards-based and organizational policies for content defects, usability testing, search engine effectiveness, site inventory, web accessibility, site maintenance and management of corporate standards. Students completing this course will be able to use the solutions to meet the demands of both your business and technical constituencies, by allowing your organization’s experts and/or policy managers to define organizational policies and then provide a solution to validate compliance with these policies, so that you know exactly why your content has passed or failed.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Students will learn to use the Interaction Builder to record and playback macros and test scripts for automating the testing process of transactional web based applications and web based e-learning systems. Extensive hands-on labs ensure that you leave the class with the skills necessary to create, enhance and manage the test and remediation process successfully. This course teaches you to:

• Understand the differences between Section 508 standard and the WCAG guidelines

• Verify Web page or application compliance for files locally or the internet

• Create test scripts with AccVerify Interaction Builder

• Understand the reports generated through tests completed with AccVerify/AccRepair

• Programmatically repair Image elements, frames, Applets, Objects, Etc...

• Use AccRepair databases in both a team and server environment

• Make tables accessible using AccVerify Table Repair Utility

• Make forms accessible using the Form Repair Utility

• Use the Accessibility Interview Wizard to complete visual verification

• Create custom checks and custom reports

• Use custom test suites to verify compliance with privacy and quality standards

• Use projects to manage testing and reporting
