Selected to Present Two Sessions at
Accessing Higher Ground
Accessible
technology leader’s sessions to focus on
obtaining Web accessibility compliance
in the college and university setting

selected to present two sessions at
the 11th Annual Accessing Higher
Ground Accessible Media, Web and
Technology Conference, in Boulder,
Colorado on November 11-14, 2008.
HiSoftware’s presentation, titled
‘Building Accessible Websites Using
MOSS 2007 and the Accessibility Kit
for SharePoint (AKS)’, will address
how organizations incorporate
end-to-end Web Compliance solutions
into their SharePoint environments
by utilizing the open source AKS and
HiSoftware’s commercial offerings.
In the session ‘Building a Holistic
Web Accessibility Program’,
HiSoftware’s client, the State
University of New York (SUNY), will
be discussing the methodology used
to support Web accessibility
initiatives at SUNY campuses. SUNY's
accessibility initiative centers on
the New York State Validation Tool,
created for the NYS Forum by
HiSoftware.
The Accessing Higher Ground
Conference focuses on the
implementation and benefits of
Assistive Technology in the
university and college setting for
sensory, physical and learning
disabilities. Other topics include
legal and policy issues, including
ADA and 508 compliance, and making
campus media and information
resources – including Web pages and
library resources – accessible.
